Many people say Babe Ruth is the greatest baseball player of all time. Me personally I think he was just a fat white man that could hit. I am taking Barry Bonds over every player of any era period!! People don't like to mention Barry Bonds because he was an asshole to the media and later the steroids scandal thing. To our knowledge he has never intentionally cheated so that now goes back to the media thing. Allegedly Babe Ruth was a racist but that does not change how anybody felt about him being the best.
Why is it that NBA has minimum age requirement but MLB does not? So it is cool to be 18 and play baseball as a living and not okay to be 18 and making a living in the NBA. Dude from the Nationals Bryce Harper decided to pull out of high school and get a GED because he wanted to focus on baseball because he is supposed to be the next great thing. Tennis athletes are competing on the pro circuit all the time before they even reach 18. Though, if I recall correctly Venus and Serena Williams caught flak for being so young. If I am wrong please let me know.
Why is it that when Brett Farve refuses to come out of the game when he is injured it is because he is a warrior and just wants to win sooo bad. When Vince Young does that he has poor communication skills and has a bad attitude. Just not sure why Brett is passionate and Vince is a knucklehead.

The MLB vs. NBA stance on age requirements is a debate that has been going on for years.
ReplyDeleteOne key reason is economics. Basketball and Football draw a larger crowd, and endorsements, in college sports than Baseball. So the powers that be want to milk that sh*t as long as they can.
Actually Babe Ruth was not a racist. Don't know where you heard that son. Ty Cobbs called him a N*gger. Google it.
Barry Bonds on the other hand is a bit of a d*ck. He's got a big azz chip on his shoulder. Don't believe me...compare him to Hank Aaron.
Are you serious about Brett Favre dude? Vince Young is a knucklehead...or better yet.WAS. He's been maturing but dude had major insecurity issues or do you really not remember his depression/i-wanna-quit-playing period back in 07/08? I don't think you can compare Favre to Young, Favre's been playing since Young was 8. That's like comparing your granddad refusing to give up driving to your boy refusing to pass the keys when they're both tipsy.
Interesting take on it. I heard Ty was off the chain. Funny you say compare Barry to Hank. I know a few people who were able to see them both play and that Barry Bonds is def the better player.Yea, Vince is a knucklehead but he wins and that is what is important at the end of the day I am just curious as to why he is not label as a competitor. I mean Brett tends to harm his team a lot more than Vince with actions on the field.
ReplyDeleteActually, I meant compare them as individuals. BB is like Lebron James from a Cleveland-er's pov. He's got a major chip on his shoulder, warranted or not, it's still there and is irritating. So I meant compare how HA and BB handled the same situation...especially when in HA's case racism was more in-your-face than now.
